Prior to Nio Day 2024, Nio will celebrate its 10th anniversary on November 25, and the two events share a common theme: Together & Further.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) announced the date and theme for the upcoming Nio Day, after confirming Guangzhou as the city to host its annual event in July.
Nio Day 2024 will be held on December 21 at Guangzhou's landmark Haixinsha, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today.
Prior to the event, Nio will celebrate its 10th anniversary on November 25.
The company has set a common theme for Nio Day 2024 and its 10th anniversary: Together & Further.
“Ten years ago on November 25, Nio was born in Shanghai to co-create a sustainable and better future with Blue Sky Coming,” the company said.
Over the past 10 years, Nio has served more than 600,000 users around the world with innovative technologies and products and creative business models, it wrote.
Nio did not mention anything more about Nio Day 2024, saying only that preparations are underway.
The EV maker's co-founder and president Qin Lihong announced at Nio's partner conference on October 10 that the third brand, code-named Firefly, will be unveiled at the Nio Day 2024 event in Guangzhou on December 21, according to a report at the time by local automotive media outlet Xchuxing.
Firefly's models will be displayed and sold at Nio's showrooms and will share the service and battery swap system of Nio's main brand, according to the report.
Earlier today, another local media outlet, Yicai, reported that the Firefly will feature an extended-range hybrid powertrain and the product is expected to be launched in 2026.
Nio Day is Nio's most important annual event and usually sees the launch of new models and technologies.
Nio held its first Nio Day on December 16, 2017 in Beijing to unveil its first production model, the ES8.
The last time that event, Nio Day 2023, was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province in northwest China on December 23, 2023 with the theme "A New Journey."
Nio unveiled its executive flagship sedan, the ET9, at last year's event with deliveries set to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
