Onvo, a sub-brand of (NYSE: NIO), has announced the start time for the L60 launch event, with its first model just days away from hitting the market.

The Onvo L60 made its debut on May 15 and became available for pre-order at a pre-sale price of RMB 219,900 ($31,000) including the battery, which is RMB 30,000 less than the current starting price of 's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y in China.

The model will be priced a bit lower at its official launch than it was at pre-sale, Nio founder, chairman and CEO William Li said during a September 5 earnings call.

Li also mentioned at the time that Onvo will formally roll out the L60 on September 19, with deliveries set to begin in late September.

The first production vehicle of the Onvo L60 rolled off the assembly line on August 15, and it was delivered to Xia Qinghua, who heads Onvo's user operations and service operations.

Xia embarked on a 36-day, 20,000-kilometer long-distance journey in the car on the same day he got the car to further validate its performance.
