China's retail penetration of NEVs stood at 51.86 percent in the July 1-28 period, and 43.05 percent year-to-date.
China's retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) continued to weaken last week, further dragging down the month-to-date performance.
For the July 1-28 period, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 722,000 units, up 31 percent from the same period last year, but down 5 percent from the same period last month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
In July 1-21, China's passenger NEV retail sales were 461,000 units, down 2 percent from the same period last month, data released by the CPCA last week showed.
The bigger decline for the July 1-28 period means that China's NEV retail sales were even lower last week than the week before.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of China's passenger NEVs stood at 4.835 million units, up 33 percent from a year earlier.
Wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs from July 1-28 were 741,000 units, up 18 percent from the same period last year but 15 percent lower than the same period last month, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, China's cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs were 5.36 million units, up 28 percent from a year earlier.
From July 1-28, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 1.392 million units, 3 percent lower than the same period last year and 11 percent lower than the same period last month.
For the year to date, cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 11,231,000 units, up 2 percent year-on-year.
This means that China's NEV penetration at retail stood at 51.86 percent from July 1-28 and 43.05 percent year-to-date.
In the first week of July -- July 1-7 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 39,189, up 6 percent year-on-year and up 9 percent from the previous month.
In the second week of July -- July 8-14 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 43,330, down 1 percent year-on-year while up 4 percent from the previous month.
In the third week of July -- July 15-21 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 50,941, 1 percent lower year-on-year and 14 percent lower than the previous month.
In the fourth week of July -- July 22-28 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 65,367, 10 percent lower year-on-year and 25 percent lower than the previous month.
For July 1-28, China's wholesale sales of all passenger cars were 1,357,000 units, 17 percent lower year-on-year and 28 percent lower than the same period last month.
During July 1-7, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 27,877, down 26 percent year-on-year and down 21 percent from the previous month.
During July 8-14, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 36,276, down 22 percent year-on-year and down 10 percent from the previous month.
During July 15-21, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 56,270, up 2 percent year-on-year while 18 percent lower than the previous month.
During July 22-28, average daily wholesale sales of Chinese passenger cars were 73,442, 21 percent lower year-on-year but 41 percent lower than the previous month.
Cumulative wholesale sales of Chinese passenger cars so far this year stood at 13.109 million units, up 3 percent year-on-year.
