BYD entered into a partnership with Philippine distributor Ayala in August 2023, with the latter's subsidiary AC Motors handling the sales, and maintenance of several BYD models in the Philippines through its sales network.

On November 17, 2023, BYD and AC Motor jointly launched the Atto 3 in the Philippines, the Chinese NEV maker's first passenger car model there.

The Atto 3, known as the Yuan Plus in China, was launched on February 19, 2022. The model is the first SUV of BYD's all-electric platform, e-platform 3.0, and its first model built for the global market.

BYD had a network of more than 10 dealerships in the Philippines and planned to add more than 20 points of sale this year, Nikkei Asia said in a report in late January.

That included 340,211 passenger NEVs and 1,447 commercial NEVs.

BYD ceased production and sales of vehicles powered entirely by internal combustion engines in March 2022, switching to a focus on the production of plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles.

In June, BYD sold 26,995 NEVs in overseas markets, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
