The launch event for both models will begin at 7:30 pm Beijing time on July 25, BYD said.

The BYD brand's model lineup includes the Dynasty and Ocean series, with the Song family of models covering both lineups.

Song family models currently on sale in the Dynasty lineup include the all-electric Song L and the hybrid Song Pro DM-i, while the Song in the Ocean lineup includes the Song Plus DM-i and Song Plus EV.

BYD introduced its fifth-generation DM technology on May 28, bringing lower fuel consumption than its predecessor.

The company rolled out the Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i hybrid sedans at that time, the first two models to feature the fifth-generation DM technology, both with a combined range of more than 2,000 kilometers.

The Song L DM-i and the updated Song Plus DM-i will be the first two BYD SUVs to feature DM 5.0 technology and will be part of the Dynasty and Ocean series respectively.

BYD has already unveiled pictures and a video of the Song L DM-i, the hybrid version of the Song L, two weeks ago. The all-electric Song L went on sale on December 15, 2023.
