Jiyue, the electric vehicle (EV) maker created by Baidu in partnership with Geely Holding Group, will launch its new model, the Jiyue 07 electric sedan, in September, local auto media outlet Dongchedi reported yesterday.

The Jiyue 07 -- the second model of the Jiyue brand after the Jiyue 01 SUV (sport utility vehicle) -- is already available at some Jiyue showrooms, according to the report.

The Jiyue 07 is a mid to large-size all-electric sedan that measures 4,953 mm in length, 1,989 mm in width and 1,475 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,013 mm, according to the model's regulatory filing.

The dimensions are larger than those of 's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3, which measures 4,724 mm, 1,848 mm, 1,430 mm in length, width and height and has a wheelbase of 2,875 mm.

The Jiyue 07 will be built at Geely's plant in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, and will be offered in single-motor and dual-motor versions, according to a May 11 regulatory filing.

The single-motor version of the Jiyue 07 is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 200 kW, while the dual-motor version has an additional front motor with a maximum power of 200 kW than the single motor. They are both supplied by Geely Auto's affiliate Viridi E-mobility Technology.

The Jiyue 07 is offered with two battery options, with pack capacities of 71.4 kWh and 100 kWh, from suppliers including and Svolt Energy.

The model's range on a single charge is available in three options -- 660 kilometers, 770 kilometers and 880 kilometers.

Jiyue was renamed from the brand formerly known as Jidu. Geely and Baidu established the joint venture Jidu in March 2021, which was then 55 percent owned by Baidu and 45 percent by Geely.

On August 15, 2023, Geely announced that it had launched a new brand, Jiyue, with Baidu, replacing Jidu, possibly for regulatory compliance reasons.

The operating entity of the new Jiyue brand is 65 percent owned by Geely, with the remaining 35 percent owned by an affiliate of Baidu.

On October 27, 2023, Jiyue launched its first model, the Jiyue 01, a five-seat SUV based on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) and built at Geely's plant in Ningbo.

Jiyue gave the Jiyue 07 sedan a debut at the 2024 Beijing auto show in late April.
