Nio (NYSE: NIO) let the first model of its sub-brand Onvo (Ledao in China), the L60, make its debut on May 15, without mentioning battery-related information. Now, information on the model's battery pack has come to light in a regulatory document.

The standard-range variant of the Onvo L60 will feature a battery pack with a capacity of 60.6 kWh and a CLTC range of 501 to 555 kilometers, according to a catalog of new energy vehicle (NEV) models entitled to purchase tax reductions released yesterday by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Nio officially launched the Onvo sub-brand on May 15 and began pre-sales of the L60 for RMB 219,900 ($30,220) including the battery pack.

On June 13, a regulatory filing revealed the Onvo L60's core specs, showing that the model will use lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by FinDreams Battery, the battery division of (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY).

The latest MIIT model catalog for the Onvo L60 has two models -- NAL6483BSEVZ1, NAL6483BSEVZ2 - the same as in the June 13 regulatory filing.

Both models have a battery pack capacity of 60.6 kWh and a battery pack weight of 439 kg. This means that the battery pack has an energy density of 138 Wh/kg.

The Onvo L60 with model number NAL6483BSEVZ1 is a single-motor model with CLTC range options of 525 km and 555 km. The different numbers could be due to the effect of different tires.

Onvo later released detailed range information for the L60, showing that they vary depending on drive form and wheel diameter.

For the four-wheel drive model, the CLTC range is 525 kilometers with 19-inch wheels and 501 kilometers with 20-inch wheels.

The single-motor version of the Onvo L60 is powered by a rear motor with a peak power of 240 kW and supports a top speed of 200 km/h, as indicated in the previous filing.
