China's new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales performance continued to improve last week, bringing the month-to-date performance to an increase.
For the June 1-23 period, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 534,000 units, up 19 percent from the same period last year and up 7 percent from the same period last month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
In the June 1-16 period, China's passenger NEV retail sales stood at 314,000 units, up 14 percent year-on-year, but down 4 percent from the same period last month, data released by the CPCA last week showed.
This means that China's NEV retail sales performance improved last week compared with the June 1-16 period.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of Chinese passenger NEVs totaled 3.789 million units, up 32 percent from a year earlier.
Wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs for June 1-23 were 579,000 units, up 23 percent from a year earlier and up 9 percent from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, cumulative wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs stood at 4.217 million units, up 30 percent from a year earlier.
From June 1-23, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 1.087 million units, down 12 percent from the same period last year, but up 2 percent from the same period last month.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of all passenger cars in China totaled 9.16 million units, up 3 percent year-on-year.
This means that China's NEV penetration at retail stood at 49.12 percent from June 1-23 and 41.36 percent year-to-date.
In the first week of June -- June 1-10 -- the average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China was 36,010, down 8 percent year-on-year and down 23 percent from the previous month.
In the second week of June -- June 11-16 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 45,707, down 19 percent year-on-year but up 1 percent from the previous month.
In the third week of June -- June 17-23, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 64,632, down 9 percent year-on-year but up 38 percent from the previous month.
For June 1-23, China's wholesale sales of all passenger cars were 1.169 million units, down 9 percent year-on-year but up 11 percent from the same period last month.
During June 1-10, China's average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars were 35,191, down 13 percent year-on-year but up 4 percent from the previous month.
During June 11-16, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 44,439, down 28 percent year-on-year and down 5 percent from the previous month.
During June 17-23, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 78,622, up 8 percent year-on-year and up 27 percent from the previous month.
Cumulative year-to-date passenger car wholesale sales were 10,753,000 units, up 6 percent year-on-year.
