China added 44,000 public charging piles in February, according to data released today by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance (CABIA).
At the end of February, the number of public charging piles in China stood at 2,826,000, including 1,239,000 DC charging piles and 1,586,000 AC charging piles.
From March 2023 to February 2024, the average monthly number of new public charging piles were about 80,000 units.
About 70.7 percent of China's public charging piles are in the top 10 provinces and cities, they are Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Hubei, Shandong, Beijing, Anhui, Henan and Sichuan.
In February, charging use totaled about 3.64 billion kWh, up 43.4 percent year-on-year but down 13.7 percent from the previous month.
In the January-February period, China's public charging piles increased by 156,000 units, up 5.72 percent year-on-year.
As of February, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in China, including private chargers, stood at 9.023 million units, up 63.7 percent year-on-year.
