Tesla's new Model 3 is available in China in two versions -- an entry rear-wheel drive version and a dual-motor, all-wheel drive, long-range version -- with starting prices of RMB 259,900 ($35,520) and RMB 295,900, respectively.

Wait time for the entry-level Model 3 is now 2-6 weeks in China, down from 6-9 weeks previously, CnEVPost's latest look shows.

The wait time for the long-range Model 3 is unchanged at 6-9 weeks.

Tesla unveiled the new Model 3 and began pre-sales of the sedan in China on September 1. On October 19, the new Model 3 officially went on sale in China, at the same pricing as during pre-sales.

On October 26, Tesla said it had begun deliveries of the revamped Model 3 in China.

The Model 3 is one of two models produced at Tesla's Shanghai plant, the other being the Model Y crossover. The factory's current annual production capacity of more than 950,000 vehicles is Tesla's largest in the world.

Tesla launched the new Model Y, which has minor feature updates, in China on October 1 and announced on October 15 that deliveries of the model had begun.

The Model Y is now available in China in 3 versions -- base, long range, and performance -- with starting prices of RMB 263,900, RMB 299,900, and RMB 363,900.

Wait times for the Model Y in China are unchanged today -- 2-6 weeks for both the base and performance versions, and 6-8 weeks for the long range version.

Tesla sold 74,073 China-made vehicles in September, including 30,566 exported and 43,507 delivered in China, data released earlier this month by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed.

Model 3 retail sales of 2,079 units in China in September contributed 4.78 percent to Tesla's sales in the country, a new low since October 2021, likely due in part to potential customers waiting for a new Model 3 at the time.

The Model Y contributed 95.22 percent of Tesla's September retail sales in China, with 41,428 units sold.
