From August 1 to August 20, retail sales of passenger new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China were 351,000 units, up 29 percent year-on-year and up 1 percent from the same period last month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
So far this year, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China were 4.078 million units, up 36 percent year-on-year.
From August 1 to August 20, China's wholesale sales of passenger NEVs were 370,000 units, up 14 percent year-on-year and unchanged from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, China's passenger NEV wholesale sales stood at 4.651 million units, up 39 percent year-on-year.
From August 1 to 20, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 947,000 units, up 5 percent year-on-year and up 1 percent from the same period last month.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of passenger cars in China totaled 12.244 million units, up 2 percent year-on-year.
This means that in the first three weeks of August, China's penetration of NEVs at retail stood at 37.06 percent, and the figure was 33.3 percent so far this year.
Between August 1 and August 6, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 40,150 units, down 1 percent from the same period last year and up 9 percent from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.
From August 7 to August 13, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 49,051 units, up 13 percent from a year ago and up 10 percent from the same period last month, a slight upward revision from the 48,044 units reported by the CPCA last week.
Between August 13 and August 20, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 51,869 units, up 3 percent from a year ago and down 9 percent from the same period last month.
