The Neta Aya has the same dimensions as the Neta V, but with a significantly lower starting price.
Hozon Auto's new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, Neta Auto, has launched a facelift of its compact electric vehicle (EV), the Neta V, but under a new name.
Neta launched the Neta Aya on August 3, while its predecessor, the Neta V, is no longer displayed on the NEV maker's website.
The Neta Aya is available in four versions with starting prices of RMB 73,800 ($10,300), RMB 78,800, RMB 84,800 and RMB 88,800.
The Neta Aya measures 4,070 mm in length, 1,690 mm in width and 1,540 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,420 mm.
The Neta Aya's dimensions are in line with those of the Neta V, which was also previously offered in four variants with starting prices of RMB 83,900, RMB 90,900, RMB 91,900, and RMB 96,900, respectively.
The Neta Aya is available in two versions, with CLTC ranges of 318 km and 410 km respectively.
The shorter-range Neta Aya is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 40 kW and maximum torque of 110 Nm, while the 410 km version is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 70 kW and maximum torque of 150 Nm.
Since its inception, Neta has been regarded as a budget NEV maker, as its vehicles are priced primarily for the lower-end market.
On July 31, 2022, the company launched its flagship sedan model, the Neta S, its first effort at the premium end of the market. On the first day of the Shanghai auto show on April 18, Neta unveiled the Neta GT electric sports car, with a starting price of RMB 178,800 yuan.
Neta delivered 10,039 vehicles in July, down 28.48 percent from 14,037 in the same month a year ago and down 17.25 percent from 12,132 in June, according to data released on August 1.
The company didn't explain why deliveries slipped in July, though its model switch may have had some impact.
On July 20, Neta launched a facelift for the Neta S, with a starting price of RMB 159,800, down RMB 30,000, or 15.81 percent, from RMB 189,800 for the previously on-sale model.
