The G6 has received many orders, which would help Xpeng see monthly deliveries reach 15,000 units in the third quarter and 20,000 units in the fourth quarter, an executive previously said.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) began deliveries of the G6 in China today, as the electric vehicle (EV) maker works to increase production capacity for the new SUV.
Xpeng started deliveries of the G6 in cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Changzhou, it said on Weibo today, adding that deliveries of the model in more cities are in the works.
The company did not share more information about the first delivery of the G6, but shared several images.
Xpeng officially launched the G6 in China on June 29, and the SUV is seen as crucial for the company to turn around weak sales.
The model is offered in five variants with starting prices of RMB 209,900 ($29,020), RMB 229,900, RMB 234,900, RMB 254,900 and RMB 276,900.
Xpeng began pre-sales of the G6 on June 9 and later announced that the model received more than 25,000 pre-orders within 72 hours.
He Xiaopeng, the company's chairman and CEO, said at the model's launch event that the G6 had received more than 35,000 pre-sale orders as of June 28 since it began pre-sales on June 9.
As of July 3, the Xpeng G6 had garnered around 28,000 firm orders with non-refundable deposits in China, just four days after the model went on sale on June 29, according to a previous report by local automotive media outlet D1EV.
Despite the good initial acceptance of the G6, Xpeng faces the challenge of quickly ramping up production capacity so that potential customers do not abandon the model because they have waited too long.
Customers have been very enthusiastic about the G6, and those who order it now have to wait about 10 weeks, Xpeng vice chairman and president Brain Gu told English-language media reporters, including CnEVPost, in an online conference on the evening of July 5.
Xpeng is hoping for shorter and shorter lead times for the G6, but right now there's still a capacity climb for the model, Gu said.
He mentioned that the G6 has received many orders, which would help Xpeng see monthly deliveries reach 15,000 units in the third quarter and 20,000 units in the fourth quarter.
On July 7, Mr. He said on Weibo that Xpeng held a meeting with suppliers and wanted them to do their best to secure parts supply and accelerate delivery efficiency.
"Our production lines are running at full throttle in an effort to deliver the car to everyone as early as possible," he said.
Mr. He shared the following two images at the time.
