Nio delivered 40,052 vehicles in the fourth quarter, above the upper end of its lowered guidance range of 38,500 to 39,500 vehicles.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) will report its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter and full year 2022 on Wednesday, March 1, before the US markets open, the company announced today.
Previously released figures show that Nio delivered 40,052 vehicles in the fourth quarter, above the upper end of the range of its new guidance, which was revised downward at the end of December last year.
The deliveries were up 59.99 percent from 25,034 vehicles in the same period last year and up 26.72 percent from 31,607 vehicles in the third quarter.
Nio's delivery guidance for the fourth quarter was 43,000 to 48,000 vehicles and revenue guidance for the fourth quarter was RMB17.37 billion to RMB19.23 billion when it announced its third-quarter earnings on November 10.
However, on December 27, Nio lowered its guidance for fourth-quarter deliveries to 38,500 to 39,500 units, a 4,500-8,500 unit reduction from the previous one.
In December, Nio had been facing delivery and production challenges coupled with certain supply chain constraints caused by an outbreak of a variant of the Omicron coronavirus in a major Chinese city, it said in a statement at the time.
"While our teams have strived to maintain continuous operations on all fronts, we were not able to reach our full capacities, particularly when there have been disruptions on delivery and registration procedures involving users," Nio's statement said at the time.
For the full year 2022, Nio delivered 122,486 vehicles, up 33.97 percent from 91,429 vehicles in 2021.
