Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) has signed an agreement to license its all-electric Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) to ElectroMobility Poland (EMP), whose Izera brand will build a variety of electric vehicles based on the platform.
The first model of the Izera brand based on the SEA platform will be a compact SUV, according to a press release from the Chinese automotive giant today.
EMP has announced plans for two additional models -- a C-segment station wagon and a hatchback -- that will be announced in due course, according to Geely.
EMP is a Polish government-backed electric vehicle maker and Poland's first domestic vehicle brand in generations.
Geely Holding's SEA architecture will support EMP's goal of meeting Poland's transition to electric vehicles and represents a significant expansion of the SEA architecture.
Geely Holding launched the SEA platform in September 2020 as a flexible, all-electric architecture, with brands including Zeekr and Smart already delivering vehicles based on the architecture to end users. EMP will be the first direct external user of the SEA.
The architecture is highly scalable, ranging from A-Segment small vehicles to E-segment and larger commercial vehicles.
The platform provides a comprehensive software framework, reducing software development for partners, and the wheelbase can be expanded from 1,800 mm to 3,300 mm on demand.
EMP intends to build its first vehicles based on the SEA architecture at its fully owned and operated manufacturing facility in Jaworzno, Poland, employing 2,400 people, according to Geely's press release.
Also of note, Zeekr earlier today unveiled the Zeekr M-Vision concept built on its smart mobility platform, the SEA-M architecture, and said it will be ready for mass production in 2024.
The SEA-M architecture is Zeekr's proprietary architecture for the future of smart mobility and is the world's first all-electric architecture developed specifically for driverless mobile mobility.
The platform supports the creation of models with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm-3,300 mm and flexible seating layouts, according to Geely.
