Tesla's 900th Supercharger station in the Chinese mainland opened on Saturday in the mega-city of Shenzhen in southern China, offering 16 Superchargers.
Tesla has built more than 50 Supercharger stations in Shenzhen, offering about 500 Superchargers.
To date, Tesla has more than 6,900 Superchargers in the Chinese mainland, and it also has more than 700 destination charging stations, offering more than 1,700 destination charging piles, covering more than 320 cities in China.
The company's V3 Supercharger can support up to 250kW of peak charging power, with some Model 3 models replenishing up to 250km of range in 15 minutes of charging.
Tesla will open the Supercharger network to other electric vehicles within the year, the company's CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter on July 21.
Musk also added that Tesla's charging network will be open to other brands in all countries in the future.
Tesla opening its charging network to other EVs could help it earn more than $25 billion in annual revenue, according to a study released July 22 by Goldman Sachs.
Tesla currently has about 3,000 Supercharger stations around the world and about 25,000 charging piles, and Goldman Sachs estimated that Tesla's current Superchargers could generate about $1 billion in revenue.
In the long run, if its number of Superchargers grows to 500,000, annual revenue could exceed $25 billion based on average usage and price analysis, the report said.
