The Enovate ME5, a compact SUV with extended-range technology, was launched on July 13, with two versions priced at 149,900 RMB ($23,200) and 159,900 RMB respectively.
The Enovate ME5 was launched by Enovate Motors in partnership with Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com, where buyers can pay RMB 5,000 and get a credit of RMB 10,000 for the purchase.
The ME5 uses the same extended-range technology as the Li Auto and has a 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 72 kW and a drive motor with a maximum power of 150 kW.
ME5 is equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack with a capacity of 30.6kWh and a 42L fuel tank, and has an NEDC electric range of 155km, and a combined range of 1012km, surpassing that of the rival Li ONE.
The ME5 has a length, width and height of 4580/1915/1635mm and a wheelbase of 2750mm, which is somewhat smaller than the rival Li ONE, Voyah FREE and Seres SF5.
The ME5 supports face recognition with a recognition time of less than 0.5 sec. The ME5 can also output 220V AC power, making it convenient for users to camp.
Enovate Motors was founded in 2015 and launched its first electric SUV, the Enovate ME7, in September last year. The company announced in October last year that it had closed a new round of funding of over RMB 5 billion.
