However, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), WM Motor sold 3,082 units in May and 11,658 units in the previous five months.

Based on these figures, WM Motor's sales in the first half of the year should not have much chance to exceed 20,000 units.

Although WM Motor has achieved good growth compared with the 7,686 units in the first half of last year, the growth rate is significantly lower than competitors.

WM Motor has also created a gap between Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng Motors in terms of delivery scale.

The five first and second-tier new car makers that have announced their sales have all increased their sales by more than 190 percent year-on-year in the first half of the year.

Among them, Xpeng Motors and Neta Automobile have sold more new cars in the first half of this year than in the whole of last year.

Nio delivered 8,083 units in June this year, up 116.1 percent year-on-year, which is the highest sales volume of it in a single month.

In terms of specific models, Nio ES8 delivered 1,498 units, Nio ES6 delivered 3,755 units and Nio EC6 delivered 2,830 units.

Nio delivered a total of 41,956 new vehicles in the first half of the year, up 196.1 percent year-on-year and reaching 95.9 percent of the company's annual deliveries last year.

Li Auto sold 7,713 units in June this year, up 320.6 percent year-on-year. In the first half of this year, Li Auto delivered a total of 30,154 units of Li ONE, up 216.5 percent year-on-year.

Currently, Li ONE is the highest-selling model among the new car makers, and Li Auto has said that it expects to exceed 10,000 units per month by September this year.

Xpeng sold 6,665 units in June, up 617 percent year-on-year. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year were 30,738 units, up 459 percent year-on-year, and already surpassed deliveries for all of 2020.

Xpeng's second-quarter deliveries reached 17,398 units, the highest delivery level the company has ever achieved.

Notably, the new Xpeng G3 facelift G3i will be officially launched in July, and Xpeng P5 will also launch deliveries in the fourth quarter.

Leap Motor sold 3,941 units in June, up 893 percent year-on-year, with cumulative sales of 13,045 units in the first half of the year.

Neta sold 5,138 units in June, up 536 percent year-on-year, with cumulative sales of 21,104 units in the first half of the year, up 478 percent year-on-year.

It is worth noting that Neta has sold more than 20,000 units in the first half of this year and will probably overtake WM Motor to leap to fourth place among the new car makers.

Neta mainly focuses on low-end products, although there is still a gap in scale and brand influence compared to Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng, but the continued high growth in deliveries so far this year.

With the support of new shareholder Qihoo 360, Neta is also seen as having the potential to enter the first tier.
