With the rapid development of China's new energy vehicle market, none of the tech giants seems to want to lag behind, with the e-commerce platform JD.com becoming the latest.

On May 7, JD.com and electric car company Enovate Motors entered into a strategic partnership that will see the two sides collaborate on digital marketing, deep customization of smart products, and smart mobility, with a focus on creating customized models "with differentiated competitive advantages".

In recent years, JD.com has entered into strategic cooperation with car companies including Geely, Chery, China FAW Group, and Beijing Automotive Group in the areas of car networking, finance, and big data.

The e-commerce giant's partnership with Enovate Motors extends the cooperation to include customized models.

Yuan said the models will be divided into different periods, starting with simple configuration options and peripheral products, and then progressing to eco-customization of the entire vehicle.

Enovate Motors will share brands, products, users, and channel resources with JD.com, according to an announcement.

At present, the two sides have not yet determined the model of cooperation, but they said that further information may be announced around June 18 this year.

Enovate Motors was founded in 2015, off the back of Le.com's Dianka Auto.

As one of the earliest electric car startups in China, Enovate Motors was founded around the same time as , , and Motors, but it has developed slightly more slowly than the latter three.
