Tesla is involved in yet another serious traffic accident in China.
The official Weibo account of Shaoguan City Public Security Bureau in Guangdong Province released an announcement Friday saying that a minivan was rear-ended by a car at around 12:00 p.m. on May 7, causing the driver of the car to die on the spot.
The accident scene has been disposed of, and the investigation of the cause of the accident is still underway, the announcement said.
According to China News Service, a Tesla sedan lost control and rear-ended a truck in front of it, resulting in serious damage to the cab of the Tesla vehicle and one of the front wheels falling off.
The accident scene was cleared around 3 p.m., the report said.
The report quoted Tesla sources as responding that the company is currently awaiting the results of the investigation and does not yet know the details.
