Chinese automaker Geely Auto Group's new energy and electrified vehicles sold 6,828 units in the first two months of the year, down 63.78 percent from 11,183 in the same period last year, according to an announcement the company made to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange today.
Geely's NEV sales of 4,289 units in January this year meant it sold 2,539 NEVs in February, down 40.8 percent from January.
Geely said that what it calls new energy and electrified vehicles include electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
Geely's total sales of all types of vehicles in February were 77,221 units, up 265% year-over-year and down 50.6% from January.
Geely's cumulative January-February sales were 233,547 units, up 76 percent year-over-year, and reached more than 15 percent of its full-year sales target of 1,530,000 units in 2012.
Sales of Geely's Lynk & Co vehicles totaled 11,825 units in February, an increase of more than 400% year-over-year.

It's worth noting that the Chinese auto market is traditionally slow from January to February and that the Chinese New Year holiday during that period can make deliveries fluctuate.
Last year, the Chinese New Year holiday was from February 24 to February 31, and this year it was from February 11 to February 17.
The fluctuations caused by the holiday were also shown in other Chinese EV makers' deliveries.
Nio delivered 5,578 vehicles in February, down 22.8 percent from January.
Xpeng Motors delivered 2,223 cars in February, down 63 percent from January.
Li Auto delivered 2,300 units of the Li ONE, its only model, in February, down 57 percent from January.
