Tesla has received a complaint from one of the first owners of China-made Model Y, who wants a new car after experiencing various problems with the vehicle.
The owner picked up the car on January 15, 2021, becoming one of the first to own the SUV in China. However, and the Model Y's iconic large screen began to malfunction that day.
The malfunctioning was occasional at first and became more frequent later, with a great probability that it would eventually become completely unresponsive, the owner said.
On the tenth night, the car's heat pump air conditioner completely broke down and was unable to produce heat.
When the vehicle was driven at 80km/h on an elevated road, the screen suddenly splashed, making all operations impossible, and even the most basic function of speed could not be read from the screen.
The splash screen still did not recover after half an hour, and finally, the car had to be restarted, the owner complained.
On the morning of the eleventh day, the car was completely unusable due to the unavailability of the 4G network. All functions involving the network, including the navigation function and radio function, were completely disabled when the network was not available.
The owner spent over 400,000 RMB on the Model Y with the FSD option, and the problem was not completely fixed even after a day at the Xixi service center.
The owner was also told that there are no parts available and that he will have to wait and that there is no telling how long he will have to wait for the fix.
The owner hopes that the problem can be solved by replacing the car with a new one. As of now, Tesla has not made any official response.
