SAIC-GM-Wuling's Hongguang MINI EV, China's best-selling electric car, sold a record 33,094 units in November, making it the only vehicle in China's new energy market to sell more than 30,000 units in a single month this year.
The company announced the figures today, saying that its highest daily sales in November exceeded 2,000 units.
The Hongguang MINI EV has been China's top-selling new energy car for two consecutive months, with sales of 14,495 units in September and 20,631 units in October.
In November, more than 96% of Hongguang MINI EV buyers were individual customers, which means that on average, more than 1,100 individual customers become Hongguang MINI EV owners every day.
The Hongguang MINI EV is available in three variants and uses an electric motor with a maximum power of 20 kW and a maximum torque of 85 Nm.
It has an official range of 120 km for both the RMB 28,800 entry-level version and the RMB 32,800 version.
Its RMB 38,800 high-end version increases the battery capacity from 9.3 kWh to 13.9 kWh, increasing the range to 170 km.
The Hongguang MINI EV does not support fast charging, and the standard charger can only be charged using a Chinese residential 220V plug, which takes 6.5-9 hours to fully recharge.
As a result of the model's popularity, its peripheral products have also become very popular on Chinese e-commerce platforms, with the Taobao platform being full of related products that sell more than 500 units per month, with many selling more than 1,000 units.
