China-made Tesla Model 3 production in the first half of the year was 49,800 units, ranking first in China's pure electric passenger car, according to the data released by China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance.
The passenger car market saw total retail sales of 7.7 million units from January to June, a decline of 23 percent from the same period of last year.
This year's cumulative passenger car retail sales decreased by 2.24 million units year-on-year.
The decline is mainly due to the early Chinese New Year and the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Tesla's share of China's all-electric vehicle market was 23 percent in June, according to China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
The CPCA expects Tesla's market share to continue to increase in the second half of the year, as China's electric vehicle market continues to grow in the second half of the year compared to the same period last year.
