The Yangwang brand sold 952 vehicles in April, while Fang Cheng Bao sold 2,110 units.

(OTCMKTS: BYDDF) today reported new energy-vehicle (NEV) sales for April, followed by breakdown figures showing the performance of different brands and models.

BYD's NEVs include passenger NEVs and commercial NEVs, with the former including different brands including BYD, Denza, Yangwang and Fang Cheng Bao.

BYD Group sold 313,245 NEVs in April, including 312,048 passenger cars and 1,197 commercial vehicles.

The BYD brand of passenger cars, which includes the Dynasty and Ocean series, sold 297,724 units in April, up 49.66 percent year-on-year and up 3.84 percent from March.

The premium Denza brand sold 11,122 units in April, up 5.66 percent year-on-year and up 8.2 percent from March.

Denza's March sales included 10,031 D9 MPVs, 1,058 N7 SUVs, and 33 N8 SUVs.

BYD's personalized sub-brand, Fang Cheng Bao, delivered 2,110 vehicles in April. Fang Cheng Bao's first model, the Bao 5, was officially launched on 9 November 2023 and deliveries began on 23 November.

Fang Cheng Bao delivered 13,173 units of the Bao 5 in January-April.

The Yangwang brand delivered 952 vehicles in April, and the BYD ultra-luxury sub-brand launched its first model, the U8, on September 20, 2023, with deliveries beginning on November 24.

The U8, which has a starting price of RMB 1,098,000 ($151,630), delivered 4,474 units in the January-April period.

On February 25, the Yangwang brand's second model, the U9, was launched with a starting price of RMB 1.68 million. The brand also unveiled the U7 sedan at the Beijing auto show.

Among the BYD brand's models, the Song family continued to rank as the top-selling BYD model with 80,860 units sold in April. This represents a year-on-year increase of 125.64 percent and a 3.02 percent increase from March.

The Song family models on sale include the Song L, Song Pro DM-i, and Song Max DM-i of the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i of the Ocean series.

BYD's Dynasty series Song models sold 37,122 units in April, up 0.54 percent from 36,921 units in March.

Its Ocean series of Song models sold 43,738 units in April, up 5.22 percent from 41,569 in March.

The BYD Qin family of models continued to be the second best-selling BYD model with 51,170 units sold in April. This was up 21.25 percent year-on-year and 26.13 percent from March.

The Seagull was the third highest-selling BYD model with 34,832 units sold in April, essentially unchanged from 34,830 units sold in March.

The BYD Seagull was launched on April 26, 2023, when it was priced at a starting price of RMB 73,800, making it the cheapest BYD model.

On March 6, BYD launched the Glory Edition of the Seagull with a starting price of RMB 69,800, which is RMB 4,000, or 5.42 percent, lower than its predecessor.

The BYD Yuan family sold 34,701 units in April, down 11.39 percent year-on-year while up 5.78 percent from March.

The BYD Chaser 05 sold 32,800 units in April, up 509.67 percent year-on-year and up 13.24 percent from March.

The BYD Han family sold 21,509 units in April, up 50.11 percent year-on-year and up 7.48 percent from March.

BYD Seal sold 14,269 units in April, up 129.7 percent year-on-year and up 6.14 percent from March.

BYD Tang sold 14,176 units in April, up 20.55 percent year-on-year and up 0.69 percent from March.

The Dolphin sold 10,067 units in April, down 66.95 percent year-on-year and down 52.17 percent from March.

BYD e2 sold 1,814 units in April, down 13.41 percent year-on-year but up 39.54 percent from March.

The BYD Frigate 07 sold 1,526 units in April, down 84.74 percent year-on-year but up 30.43 percent from March.
