- The B10 is the first model in Leapmotor's B-series, with a pre-sales starting price of RMB 109,800 ($15,170).
- The less expensive LiDAR-equipped variant -- with a pre-sales starting price of RMB 129,800 -- is the most popular.

Leapmotor's (HKG: 9863) new B10 compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) seems to be getting good initial acceptance, according to pre-orders shared by the company.
The B10 received 31,688 pre-orders in the 48 hours after pre-sales began, with the less expensive one of the two LiDAR-equipped variants being the most popular, the new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced last night.
Leapmotor began pre-sales of the B10 -- the first model in its B-series -- on the evening of March 10 Beijing time, with the official launch set for April.
Shortly after the model went on pre-sales, Leapmotor said it received more than 15,010 B10 pre-orders in the first hour, with the LiDAR-equipped variants accounting for 73 percent.
The all-electric B10 is available for pre-sales in five variants, including three with a CLTC range of 510 kilometers, with starting prices of RMB 109,800 ($15,170), RMB 119,800, and RMB 129,800, respectively.
The other two variants have a range of 600 kilometers and start at RMB 129,800 and RMB 139,800 respectively.
Leapmotor calls the two highest-priced variants with different ranges the smart driving editions, both of which feature an ATX LiDAR from Hesai Group (NASDAQ: HSAI).
The B10 is the first in the EV industry to feature LiDAR on a product priced as low as RMB 130,000, enabling more powerful smart driving capabilities, Leapmotor said at the time.
In a media interview after the B10 pre-sales event, Leapmotor's management said the company had already achieved monthly sales of over 40,000 units for its C-series models, and that the B-series models will be even higher.
Leapmotor is confident that it will see monthly sales of more than 40,000 units of the B-series models, the company said.
Leapmotor's current models delivered in China include the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with all models except the T03 offered in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
In addition to the B10, Leapmotor will launch more B-series models.
