- Voyah's cockpit has completed integration with DeepSeek and is scheduled to kick off DeepSeek knowledge distillation training on February 14.
- In addition to Zhiyin, Voyah's Dream MPV will also feature DeepSeek's AI models.

Zhiyin, an SUV (sport utility vehicle) from Dongfeng Motor's new energy vehicle (NEV) brand Voyah, will be the first production vehicle to incorporate DeepSeek's AI model, local media outlet 36kr reported today.
Voyah's smart cockpit has completed deep integration with DeepSeek and is scheduled to open DeepSeek knowledge distillation training on February 14, according to the report.
Along with Zhiyin -- known as Courage in international markets -- Voyah's Dream MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) will also feature DeepSeek's AI models, according to the report.
Voyah's cockpit has completed access to DeepSeek's full range of AI models, and Zhiyin and Dream have been deeply integrated with the DeepSeek R1 model, the report said.
Through the deep integration with DeepSeek, Voyah's cockpit will be able to realize functions including AI multi-semantic command recognition, AI poem writing, AI painting, AI chat, and AI information retrieval in real time, according to 36kr.
Equipped with DeepSeek, the AI responsiveness, accuracy, and expandability of Voyah's car system will be improved, the report said.
Voyah Zhiyin's cloud-based system will continue to fuse and distill the DeepSeek R1 model to rapidly iterate on the technology as well as reduce the cost of cockpit technology development, according to the report.
Starting February 14, Voyah Zhiyin users will be able to experience the AI smart cockpit via an OTA update, after which the car will gradually turn on DeepSeek-related capabilities, the report said.
Voyah launched the Zhiyin SUV on October 13, 2024, with a current starting price of RMB 196,900 ($27,020).
As DeepSeek's latest open-source model, DeepSeek R1 outperforms OpenAI's o1 model, but costs less to train.
DeepSeek's AI capabilities were widely recognized during the just-past Chinese New Year holiday and quickly became a hot topic.
On February 5, the first working day after the Chinese New Year holiday, He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV), mentioned DeepSeek to his employees in an internal letter, saying that AI is opening up huge opportunities in all industries.
DeepSeek has rocked the global tech scene, enabling a product experience that rivals OpenAI's large models and compressing costs to a fraction, the Xpeng CEO said.
“I believe large model-based AI will accelerate autonomous driving to a higher level,” he said.
Yesterday, Geely Auto announced the completion of deep integration of its Geely Xingrui AI Large Model with DeepSeek.
