BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched the Dolphin compact electric vehicle (EV) in Mexico, its fourth model in the country after the Han, Tang and Yuan Plus.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) giant roll out the Dolphin in Mexico at a launch event on September 20, with a starting price of 535,990 Mexican pesos ($31,250).
Initially launched in China on August 29, 2021, the BYD Dolphin is currently offered in 3 versions in its home market with starting prices of RMB 116,800 ($16,000), RMB 123,800, and RMB 136,800 respectively.
The BYD Dolphin measures 4,125 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
The model is the first production model based on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and has an NEDC range of up to 405 kilometers.
The BYD Dolphin features fast charging, which can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

To date, BYD has established six dealerships in Mexico and plans to add 50 more by the end of the year, expanding its presence to all 32 states, the company said today in a press release.
BYD launched the Han EV, Tang EV, and Yuan Plus in Mexico on March 30, and the Dolphin is the latest product it offers in the country.
An economical EV, the Dolphin has been brought to several overseas markets by BYD.
On September 20, BYD launched the Dolphin in Japan, its second passenger car there after the Atto 3.
BYD offers the Dolphin in Japan in standard and long-range versions, with starting prices of 3.63 million yen ($24,480) and 4.07 million yen, respectively.
BYD sold a record 274,386 NEVs in August, including 25,023 in overseas markets.
The Dolphin sold 32,745 units in August, up 39.52 percent year-on-year and 2.49 percent from July, and was the fourth best-selling BYD model last month.
