For a model of X's size, a four-seat version is a rarity in China.

Zeekr's third model, the Zeekr X, has entered a regulatory filing list in China, meaning it's getting closer to launch.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today announced the latest batch of models that will soon be allowed to be sold in China, and the Zeekr X is included.

The public can submit feedback on the catalog between February 13 and February 19 if they have comments. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process before a model is allowed to be sold in China.

The Zeekr X page shows what the model looks like in real life and, somewhat surprisingly, the model will be offered in four- and five-seat versions.

The Zeekr X is Zeekr's third model, an all-electric compact car. Its length, width and height are 4,450 mm, 1,836 mm and 1,572 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

That size is larger than 's five-seat compact EV Dolphin, which measures 4,125 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width and 1,570 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

For a vehicle of this size, a four-seat version is a rarity in China. Previously common four-seat EVs for Chinese consumers have included SAIC-GM Wuling's Hongguang Mini EV and the Baojun KiWi EV, both of which are less than 3 meters long.

The Zeekr X, which entered the MIIT's catalog, is available in three versions, including a dual-motor version and two single-motor variants.

Its dual-motor version has a front motor with a maximum power of 115 kW and a rear motor of 200 kW. Both single-motor versions have a maximum motor power of 200 kW. They have a top speed of 190 km/h and 185 km/h, respectively.

The battery supplier for the Zeekr X is a joint venture between and Geely in Yibin, Sichuan province in southwestern China.

As a subsidiary of Geely, Zeekr was officially launched as a standalone company in March 2021. It currently sells the Zeekr 001 hatchback and the Zeekr 009 MPV, both of which are manufactured at the company's plant in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.

Zeekr's third model will not be built in Ningbo, but at a Geely plant in Chengdu, Sichuan province, a source familiar with the matter previously told CnEVPost.

The company teased the model earlier this month, with previous information suggesting the car could be named the Zeekr 003, but the official name Zeekr eventually announced was the Zeekr X.

Zeekr previously said the Zeekr X is an all-around SUV that will accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than four seconds and will be the ceiling of performance for an A-class SUV.

Earlier today, Geely announced that Zeekr has raised $750 million in Series A funding, bringing Zeekr's post-investment valuation to $13 billion.

Zeekr filed a draft registration statement for a possible IPO with the SEC on December 7 on a confidential basis.
