The Han family sold 31,614 units in October, the Tang family 17,161 units and the BYD Seal 11,267 units.

The Song and the Qin family models were BYD's top sellers in October, according to a breakdown of the different models released by the company after it announced its October sales figures.

The Song family sold 56,843 units in October, up 143.83 percent from 23,313 units in the same month last year and up 22.36 percent from 46,457 units in September, according to the data.

The sales include 705 units that were exported to overseas markets. To date, the cumulative sales of the Song family have exceeded 1.4 million units.

The BYD Qin family sold 34,670 units in October, up 25.05 percent from 27,725 units in the same month last year and down 12.26 percent from 39,515 units in September.

The Han family, the company's flagship sedan, sold 31,614 units in October, up 185.14 percent from 11,087 units a year earlier and essentially unchanged from 31,497 units in September.

The Han family includes the plug-in hybrid Han DM series and the all-electric Han EV. BYD did not release their breakdown figures, saying only that Han DM series sales were up 554.3 percent year-on-year.

That means the Han DM series sold 18,320 units in October, essentially unchanged from 18,267 units in September, and the Han EV was 13,294 units, also essentially unchanged from 13,294 units in September.

BYD's flagship SUV Tang family sold 17,161 units in October, up 150.09 percent year-on-year and up 13.97 percent from September. To date, the Tang family has sold more than 400,000 units in total.

The BYD Yuan family sold 27,548 units in October, up 323.36 percent year-on-year and 17.21 percent from September. The sales include 7,130 units exported to overseas markets, according to the company.

BYD Seal sold 11,267 units in October, up 50.77 percent from 7,473 units in September. This is the second time the company has announced sales figures for the sedan, which was officially launched on July 29.

The BYD Destroyer 05 sold 9,111 units in October, essentially the same as the 9,101 units sold in September.

BYD Dolphin sold 25,336 units in October, up 321 percent year-on-year and 1.52 percent from September.

BYD reported earlier today that it sold 217,816 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in October, a new all-time high and the second consecutive month of more than 200,000 units.

BYD's NEVs include passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles, and they sold 217,518 and 298 units in October, respectively.
