BYD is bringing the Yuan Plus to yet another country, expanding the presence of the company's first global model.

The BYD Yuan Plus was recently launched in Colombia, the latest Latin American country the model has entered, following the Costa Rican, Uruguayan and Dominican markets, the company announced Thursday.

Notably, unlike BYD's move to market the Yuan Plus in most overseas markets under the Atto 3 name, BYD is launched in Colombia as the Yuan Plus EV.

Since 2020, BYD has partnered with local dealer Motorysa to sell its full range of new energy passenger vehicles in Colombia, including the Han EV and Tang EV, as well as the Qin Plus DM-i and Song Plus DM-i, according to BYD.

To date, BYD has delivered nearly 3,000 new energy vehicles in Colombia, the company said.

The BYD Yuan Plus battery electric vehicle was officially launched in China on February 19, when BYD said the model was its first EV aimed at the global market.

The model has a length, width and height of 4,455 mm, 1,875 mm and 1,615 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm.

The BYD Yuan Plus sold in China is powered by a drive motor with a peak power of 150 kW, a peak torque of 310 Nm and an acceleration time of 7.3 seconds from 0-100 km/h.

The model was launched in China at the same time as it was opened for pre-order in Australia under the Atto 3 name.

Earlier this week, BYD announced that it recently brought the Atto 3 to Mongolia and Nepal.

As of now, the BYD Atto 3 is available in more countries including New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, India, and in Europe.
