To date, Tesla has opened more than 1,300 Supercharger stations in the Chinese mainland, offering more than 9,300 Superchargers, the US electric vehicle (EV) giant said today on Weibo.

Tesla mentioned the number in a Weibo post celebrating the 10th anniversary of the opening of its global Supercharger network. Its first Supercharger station in the Chinese mainland was inaugurated in 2014 in Jinqiao, Shanghai.

Since 2012, the global Tesla Supercharger network has covered 46 countries, offering more than 35,000 Superchargers, it said.

Tesla installed its first Supercharger worldwide in September 2012, and the number of Superchargers reached 10,000 in June 2018.

The electric vehicle maker reached 20,000 Superchargers worldwide in November 2020 and 30,000 in November 2021.

On June 10, Tesla's 35,000th Supercharger worldwide was installed at one of its service centers in Wuhan, Hubei province, central China, it previously said on Weibo.

On August 30, Tesla announced that it reached 100 Supercharger stations in China's capital city of Beijing, offering 890 Superchargers.

Zhang Lina, head of development and operations for Tesla's Supercharger network in China, said at an event at the time that Tesla would likely open its charging network to other brands of electric vehicles in the future.

On September 7, Tesla announced that it had put into operation its 200th Supercharger station in southern China's Guangdong province.

On September 9, Tesla said it put its 9,000th Supercharger in the Chinese mainland into operation in Yiyang, Hunan province.

In addition to the more than 1,300 Superchargers, Tesla also has more than 700 destination charging stations in the Chinese mainland, offering more than 1,800 charging piles, it said in a Weibo post today.
