Zeekr, Geely's premium electric vehicle brand, announced today that it has sold out of available capacity for this year, with new orders to start delivery in 2023.

Zeekr previously set a delivery target of 70,000 units for 2022, and the latest progress means that it has secured enough orders to complete that target.

Zeekr has accumulated 70,000 orders with non-refundable deposits in the first three quarters, and the Zeekr 009 will also be launched in the fourth quarter, local media Cailian said today, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Notably, Zeekr will continue to offer the same purchase subsidies as this year for its two lower-priced models for some time to come, despite the fact that capacity is already sold out.

China currently offers purchase tax exemptions and state purchase subsidies for new energy vehicles (NEVs), both of which are set to expire at the end of the year.

However, the purchase tax exemption has been confirmed to continue in 2023, while the purchase subsidies will not.

Under current Chinese policy, NEVs priced above RMB 300,000 ($43,360) will not be eligible for purchase subsidies, except for -like models that support battery swap.

Zeekr's only model currently on sale, the Zeekr 001, is available in four models, two of which are priced from RMB 299,000, and they are eligible for national purchase subsidies. The other two models are priced at RMB 349,000 and 386,000 respectively, and they are not able to enjoy the subsidies.

For consumers who place orders for the two lower-priced models in a future period and are unable to get deliveries this year because of Zeekr, the company will offer the same subsidies as in 2022, it said.

As for when the measure will cease, Zeekr said it will communicate in a future time.

Earlier this year, Zeekr said its 2022 delivery target was 70,000 units. It plans to export the Zeekr 001 to the EU market in early 2023 and expects to export up to 100,000 units in 2025.

On September 1, Zeekr released figures showing it delivered a record 7,166 vehicles in August, up 43 percent from 5,022 in July.

From January to August, Zeekr delivered a total of 31,198 Zeekr 001 vehicles, bringing the cumulative deliveries since deliveries began last October to 37,205 units.

Zeekr 001 received another record high of over 10,000 non-refundable deposit orders in August, with the average order amount exceeding RMB 336,000, Zeekr said on September 1.
