BYD provided breakdown sales figures for different models after announcing the August sales data today, allowing us to know which models are its best sellers.

The BYD Song family sold 42,500 units in August, the company's highest-selling model for the month, bringing the model's cumulative sales since its launch to more than 1.29 million units, according to the company.

That's up 140.24 percent from 17,691 units a year ago and up 9.83 percent from 38,697 units in July, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

So far this year, 244,083 Song family models have been sold, up 115.61 percent from 113,205 units in the same period last year.

The BYD Qin family sold 39,512 units in August, up 76.52 percent from a year ago and 15.82 percent from July. Total sales of the model have exceeded 720,000 units since its launch.

So far this year, the Qin family has sold 220,364 vehicles, up 157.69 percent from 85,515 units in the same period last year.

The company's flagship sedan, the Han family, sold 26,003 units in August, up 187.80 percent from 9,035 units a year earlier and essentially unchanged from 25,849 units in July.

The all-electric version of the Han EV sold 13,191 units in August, up 112.83 percent year-on-year and essentially unchanged from 13,106 units in July.

The plug-in hybrid Han DM series sold 12,812 units in August, up 351.60 percent year-on-year and up 0.54 percent from July.

Since its launch in July 2020, the Han family models have sold a cumulative total of more than 300,000 units.

The Dolphin, the first model of BYD's all-electric e-platform 3.0, sold 23,469 units in August, up 11.73 percent from 21,005 units in July.

Since its official launch in August 2021, Dolphin has sold a cumulative total of 132,586 units.

The BYD Yuan family sold 18,265 vehicles in August, up 281.95 percent year-on-year and down 17.62 percent from 22,172 vehicles in July.

The BYD Tang family flagship SUVs sold 10,815 vehicles in August, up 73.32 percent year-on-year and down 8.25 percent from 11,788 vehicles in July.

The company announced the launch of a new performance version of the Tang family, the Tang DM-p, on August 25, giving consumers an additional option beyond the pure electric and fuel economy-focused hybrid versions.

BYD Destroyer 05 sedan sold 8,725 units in August, up 15.59 percent from 7,548 units in July.
