The expected delivery date for the entry-level Tesla Model 3 in China has been shortened by two weeks, following a similar update to the entry-level Model Y two days ago.
The rear-wheel-drive version of the Model 3, priced at RMB 279,900 ($41,420), now has an expected delivery date in China of 14-18 weeks, two weeks shorter than the previous 16-20 weeks, information on Tesla's China website shows.
Tesla currently offers two versions of the Model 3 in China - the entry version as well as the Model 3 Performance, while the Model Y includes the entry version Model Y, Model Y Long Range, and Model Y Performance.
The expected delivery dates for the other models remain unchanged. Pricing and specifications for all models remain unchanged.
On August 8, the expected delivery date for the rear-wheel drive Model Y, priced at RMB 316,900, became 8-12 weeks in China, two weeks shorter than the previous 10-14 weeks.
At that time, the expected delivery dates for both the Tesla Model 3 Performance and Model Y Performance in China were extended by four weeks.

These changes may be related to the production line upgrades at Tesla's Shanghai plant, which currently only produces the Model 3 and Model Y.
On July 22, local media outlet Auto Time reported that Tesla began upgrades to Giga Shanghai in July, with the line responsible for producing the Model Y completing the upgrade on July 16.
The production line responsible for producing the Model 3 sedan began the upgrade on July 17 and is expected to be completed on August 7, according to the report.
As a result of that upgrade, Tesla China saw a significant drop in sales in July.
Tesla China's wholesale sales in July were 28,217 units, down 64.24 percent from 78,906 units in June and down 14.41 percent from 32,968 units a year ago, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association on August 9.
Tesla China exported 19,756 vehicles in July, meaning 8,461 vehicles were delivered to local consumers.
In addition to the adjustment in expected delivery dates, the Tesla China team said yesterday that the China-made Model Y now comes standard with an additional far-side airbag across the lineup.
The airbag, which is mounted on the inside of the main driver's seatback, reduces contact injuries between front occupants in the event of a possible side collision with the vehicle.
