NIO reaches 1 million battery swap services in Beijing-CnEVPost

On July 17, NIO (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866, SGX: NIO) reached a cumulative total of 1 million battery swap services in Beijing as an ET7 customer replaced a fully charged battery in his vehicle, according to information shared by the company on its mobile app today.

To date, NIO has 75 battery swap stations in the Chinese capital city, 64 of which are located in downtown areas. It also has 114 charging stations in the city.

As of today, NIO provides an average of 2,500 battery swap services per day in Beijing, according to the company. This means that each NIO battery swap station in Beijing provides an average of 33 services per day.

In addition to meeting customers' needs for urban commuting, the construction of NIO Beijing's intercity battery swap network is also advancing.

Of the 13 highways in Beijing, NIO's battery swap network already covers seven of them.

The network is expected to cover an additional three highways in the third quarter of this year, and the remaining three by the summer of 2023, according to NIO.

To date, 78.3 percent of NIO customers in Beijing have at least one battery swap station within 3 kilometers of their homes, according to the company.

NIO aims to make 90 percent of its users in China have at least one battery swap station within 3 kilometers of their homes by 2025. As of July 11, the percentage was 62.6 percent.

As of July 20, NIO had 1,027 battery swap stations in China, as well as 1,720 charging stations offering 9,844 charging piles, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

With an NIO ES8 driving out of a battery swap station in Shanghai on July 4, NIO customers have used the battery swap service a cumulative 10 million times, the company previously said.

NIO currently has 74 battery swap stations and 112 charging stations in Shanghai.
