Although JAC did not specify, its EV sales should include vehicles that it manufactures on its behalf.

Jianghuai Automobile Group Co (JAC), Nio's vehicle manufacturing partner, sold 18,126 pure-play electric vehicles (EVs) in June, according to figures released today by the company.

This represents a 27.28 percent increase from 14,241 units in May and a 55.55 percent increase from 11,653 units in the same month last year.

In the January-June period, JAC sold 80,089 EVs, up 44.02 percent from 55,611 units in the same period last year.

Although the company did not specify, its EV sales would have included Nio vehicles that it produces.

Nio delivered 12,961 vehicles in June, its record high for single-month deliveries, which was up 60.35 percent from 8,083 units a year ago and 84.52 percent from 7,024 units in May, previously released data showed.

This means that JAC's own brand of EVs sold 5,165 units in June.

JAC sold 43,108 units of all vehicles in June, up 4.86 percent from 41,111 units in the same month last year, data released by the company today showed.

From January to June, JAC sold a total of 235,210 vehicles, down 17.47 percent from 284,986 units in the same period last year.

Because it produces a large number of electric vehicles, JAC is one of the big winners of China's dual credit policy.

JAC received 397,000 new energy vehicle (NEV) credits in 2021, worth about 800 million yuan, CnEVPost reported earlier today.

But Nio sales account for 68 percent of JAC's EV sales in 2021, so those credits go mostly to the upstart EV maker.
