NIO (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866, SGX: NIO) saw record deliveries in June, with deliveries of the ET7 particularly bright, as its supply chain and vehicle production recovered from the Covid disruption.

The company delivered 12,961 vehicles in June, its record high for single-month deliveries, surpassing the previous record of 10,878 vehicles last November, according to data released today.

This represents a 60.35 percent increase over the 8,083 vehicles delivered in the same month last year and an 84.52 percent increase over the 7,024 vehicles delivered in May.

The deliveries included 1,684 ES8s, 5,100 ES6s and 1,828 EC6s, and 4,349 ET7s.

This is the fourth delivery month for the ET7 sedan, bringing its cumulative deliveries since the end of March to 6,912 units.

Notably, although the ET7 had 1,707 deliveries in May, it was then already in ninth place in China's sales ranking for premium sedans starting at more than RMB 300,000 ($44,820), according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on June 10.

The ET7's higher deliveries in June have raised expectations for the CPCA's new list, which is expected to be released later this month.

NIO delivered 25,059 vehicles in the second quarter, above the upper end of its previous guidance range of 23,000-25,000 vehicles. This was up 14.45 percent from 21,896 units in the same period last year and down 2.75 percent from 25,768 units in the first quarter.

Cumulative deliveries of NIO vehicles reached 217,897 units as of June 30, according to the company.

On June 15, NIO unveiled the new SUV ES7 and also launched the 2022 ES8, ES6 and EC6 with upgraded digital cockpit domain controller and sensing suite.

The company expects to begin deliveries of the ES7 and the 2022 ES8, ES6 and EC6 in August.

NIO's English press release doesn't offer much more than the above, though a post on its WeChat account says its supply chain and vehicle production is back in full swing, with deliveries in Shanghai and other locations on track.

Next, NIO's second production site in NeoPark will go into production in the third quarter, NIO said in that WeChat post.

In addition, NIO said its official websites for Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark went live today. The company previously said it would enter these four countries this year.

Shanghai, where NIO's global headquarters are located, went into a phased lockdown on March 28, with sales activities for all car companies, including the company, coming to a halt.

The city lifted restrictions on travel for residents on June 1, and NIO's vehicle deliveries here resumed on June 2.

On June 19, Shanghai Securities News reported that NIO's 27 stores in Shanghai had seen all staff return to their posts and that traffic at those stores had returned to levels seen before this round of Covid outbreaks.
