This comes seven months after Tesla installed its 30,000th Supercharger worldwide.
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), one of the world's best-known electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, continues to make rapid progress in building charging facilities.
On June 10, Tesla's 35,000th Supercharger worldwide was installed at one of its service centers in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China, it said in a Weibo post today.
Tesla installed its first Supercharger in the world in September 2012, and the number of the facility reached 10,000 in June 2018, according to the Weibo post.
Tesla reached 20,000 Superchargers worldwide in November 2020 and 30,000 in November 2021.
Tesla today did not release an update on the number of charging facilities it has in China.
On May 20, the company said it added 20 Supercharger stations in the Chinese mainland in April, including 79 superchargers.
Tesla has opened a cumulative total of more than 1,100 Supercharging stations in the Chinese mainland, offering more than 8,600 Superchargers, it said on May 20.
It also has more than 700 destination charging stations in the Chinese mainland, offering more than 1,800 charging piles, according to the company.
Tesla currently has a factory in Shanghai to produce the Model 3 and Model Y. In addition to supplying the local Chinese market, the factory is also an export center for the company.
Tesla sold 182,174 China-made vehicles in the first quarter, including 108,300 delivered in China and 73,874 exported from the Shanghai plant, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Considering that the company delivered 310,048 vehicles worldwide in the first quarter, the Chinese market contributed 35 percent of its sales in the period.
Tesla sold 32,165 China-made vehicles in May, according to data released yesterday by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Tesla China exported 22,340 vehicles in May, according to the data, meaning the EV maker sold 9,825 retail units in China in May.
