and 's share of the China power battery market returned to their respective normal levels in May, after a Covid disruption in April narrowed their gap significantly.

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL, SHE: 300750) and BYD (SHE: 002594, HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) returned to their respective shares of the China power battery market in May, after a Covid disruption in April narrowed their gap significantly.

CATL's installed base of 8.51 GWh in China in May, with a 45.85 percent market share, remains in the top position, according to data released today by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance (CABIA).

This also reduced the gap between CATL and BYD's share of the power battery market to 6.1 percentage points in April, the lowest since CABIA data became available.
