The AITO Wenjie M7, a large six-seat SUV, will be launched between June 20-29, with deliveries starting in late July, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's smart car solutions BU, said at an event on the first day of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Auto Show (Auto Shenzhen 2022).

The AITO Wenjie M7 will have a very comfortable boss mode, with comfort levels surpassing those of the Toyota Alphard MPV and Lexus LM, Yu said.

AITO's goal is to make the M7 experience surpass that of million-yuan luxury large SUVs, and MPVs, according to Yu.

The Wenjie M7 is now on AITO's website and is positioned as a luxury smart large electric SUV.

AITO's official website page offers a vehicle inquiry window, but no specifications for the model have been released.

The AITO Wenjie M7 has previously entered the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's list of models allowed to be sold, and the filing information shows its core specifications.

The model has a length, width and height of 5,020 x 1,945 x 1,775 mm and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. It features the same family design as AITO's first model, the M5.

The M7's rear-wheel-drive panel is equipped with an extended-range powertrain consisting of a 1.5T range extender and electric motor, with a drive motor producing a peak power of 200kW and an engine producing a maximum of 90kW.

A four-wheel-drive version of the model adds a front motor with a peak power of 130 kW, bringing the combined power to 330 kW.

The AITO Wenjie M7 is powered by CATL's ternary lithium-ion battery and has a WLTC range of 135 km under battery power.

In addition to mentioning the M7's release date, Huawei's Yu also mentioned that an all-electric version of the Wenjie M5 will be available in September.

Seres announced the launch of the AITO brand on December 2 last year, saying it will have Seres' capabilities in extended-range technology, as well as cutting-edge technology from partners including Huawei.

On December 23 last year, Yu announced the Wenjie M5, an SUV with extended-range technology similar to Li Auto's Li ONE.

The Wenjie M5 is equipped with the Huawei DriveONE drive system, including a 1.5T four-cylinder range extender and a combination of asynchronous AC motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors.
