Voyah FREE, the only model of Dongfeng Motor's (HKG: 0489) premium electric vehicle (EV) brand Voyah, delivered 1,400 units in March, up 89 percent from February, figures released Friday showed.

Deliveries of the Voyah FREE continued to rise from its first delivery in August to December last year, reaching 3,330 units in December in particular, about three times as many as in November.

However, this year, deliveries of the model returned to slightly higher levels than last November, and only 740 units were delivered in February due to the Chinese New Year holiday.

In the first quarter, Voyah FREE deliveries were 3,693 units, with a total of 10,484 units delivered since last August.

As of March 31, Voyah had 55 Voyah Space locations in China covering 25 cities.

The company did not provide an explanation for the latest sales performance, but said sales and service channels, as well as product placement, will continue to improve this year and sales will continue to grow steadily.

Voyah announced its price adjustment plan on Thursday as planned, and it will increase the price of the all-electric version of the Voyah FREE on May 1 and will keep the price of the extended-range version unchanged.
