Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL), the battery supplier to and , installed 6.57 GWh of power batteries in China in February, capturing 48.02 percent market share, according to data released today by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance (CABIA).

In January, CATL (SHE: 300750) held a 50.24 percent market share with 8.13 GWh of installed capacity. The latest figures mean that the power battery giant's market share in China dropped by 2.22 percentage points in February.

China's power battery installed base was 13.7 GWh in February, up 145.1 percent year-on-year but down 15.5 percent from January, the CABIA data shows.

In the ternary battery market, CATL's installed base was 2.96 GWh in February, with a market share of 50.57, down from 57.17 percent in January.

In the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery market, CATL's installed base in February was 3.61 GWh, with a market share of 46.41 percent, up from 44.6 percent in January.

's power battery installed base in February was 2.9 GWh, with a market share of 21.24 percent, up from 20.93 percent in January.

In the ternary battery market, BYD's installed base in February was not in the top 10, so the data is not available. BYD's installed base of ternary batteries in January was 0.15 GWh, with a market share of 2.03 percent.

In the LFP market, BYD's installed base in February was 2.84 GWh, with a market share of 36.55 percent, basically unchanged from 36.51 percent in January.

CALB installed 1.15 GWh in February, ranking third with an 8.44 percent market share, up from 7.4 percent in January.

Gotion High-Tech installed 0.7 GWh in February, ranking fourth with a 5.14 percent market share, down from 5.81 percent in January.
