WM Motor's E.5 is a tailor-made sedan for the ride-hailing market, and now the company wants it to become a family option.

The company said today that it will unveil the 2022 E.5 at the end of next month at the Beijing Auto Show, where it hopes it will become the new choice in the smart, all-electric family car market.

The Beijing Auto show will take place from April 21 to April 30, 2022, in both the new and old halls of the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

The new WM Motor E.5 will use ternary lithium power cells and offer a reliable long range of over 500 kilometers, it says.

On fast charge, the vehicle takes 39 minutes to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent, the company said, adding that it meets the needs of families in all aspects of daily travel.

The model has a length, width and height of 4,718, 1,838 and 15,35 mm respectively, a wheelbase of 2,810 mm and a panoramic glass sunroof that is currently used in most electric vehicles.

The car will be equipped with Living Pilot driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and forward-collision warning.

It has a 12.3-inch center console and instrument screen, and a knob-type shift structure.

WM Motor does not explicitly mention it, but the E.5 model was previously sold only to large customers and was used as a ride-hailing vehicle.

On the company's website and mobile app, the only models that the average consumer can reserve are the W6 and EX5-Z SUVs.

Its E.5 and EX5 models are both sold only to large customers, tailored to the ride-hailing market and helping travel platforms improve operational efficiency, information on its official website shows.

WM Motor's latest move means the E.5 will be available to the general consumer to increase its user base.

The E.5 model for the travel market is offered in three versions, priced at RMB 150,100 ($23,740), 160,100 and 170,100 respectively.
