Following its EQS flagship sedan, Mercedes-Benz is expected to bring another of its electric sedans, the EQE, to the Chinese market.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the latest list of vehicles that will soon be allowed to be sold for public comment on February 11, and two versions of the Mercedes-Benz EQE, the BJ7003NBEV1 and BJ7003NBEV2, were included.

The public can comment on the list between February 11-18. At the end of the comment period, the MIIT will publish the final version of the list.

Appearing on the MIIT's list is the last major regulatory process for a model to be sold in China, usually only 4-6 months before the vehicle is officially launched.

The two versions of the Mercedes-Benz EQE that made it into the list are both the EQE 350, and they have the same core specifications, differing only in their overall mass, which is 2,375 kg and 2,410 kg, respectively.

The information shows that the length, width and height of the Mercedes-Benz EQE are 4,969 mm, 1,906 mm and 1,509 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm.

The EQS, the world's lowest wind resistance coefficient production car introduced by Mercedes-Benz to the Chinese market late last year, has a length, width and height of 5,216, 1,926 and 1,512 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,210 mm.

For reference, the length, width and height of 's flagship sedan ET7 are 5,101, 1,987 and 1,505 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.

Both versions of the Mercedes-Benz EQE that appear in the above list are equipped with an electric motor rated at 100kW and 215kW peak power, and a ternary lithium battery. It has a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour.

Mercedes-Benz announced the EQE sedan in the international market last year, positioned between the Model 3 and Model S. There is no information on the price of the model yet, and previous media reports said that the price is expected to be around $70,000.

On December 17 last year, Mercedes-Benz officially introduced the EQS to China, offering four versions of the model with retail prices of RMB 1,079,600 ($169,500), 1,193,600, 1,317,600 and 1,518,600 respectively.

For comparison, Nio's ET7 is currently offered in two versions for RMB 448,000 and RMB 526,000, respectively, before subsidies.
