When it comes to entering international markets, several carmakers, including and , are targeting Europe, while others are focusing on Southeast Asia.

Great Wall Motor has already entered four ASEAN countries - Thailand, Brunei, Laos and Myanmar - and will launch regular operations in Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Singapore in 2022, the company said.

On February 9, 2021, Great Wall Motor marked its major effort to enter the ASEAN market with the launch of its GWM brand in Thailand.

On February 9 this year, the company held a ceremony to celebrate the GWM brand's first anniversary in Thailand and unveiled its so-called "4+4" strategy for the ASEAN market.

Great Wall Motor said last year that it planned to launch nine models in Thailand within three years, with a focus on new energy vehicles (NEVs).

Currently, GWM offers three NEVs in Thailand: the Haval H6 HEV, Haval JOLION HEV and Ora Good Cat, with cumulative sales of more than 5,000, according to the company.

By the end of 2021, GWM's APP user registration has exceeded 50,000, with a daily active user ratio of over 15 percent, according to the company.

In 2022, Great Wall Motor will bring several new categories of safer and smarter cars to the Thai market, and plans to reach 80 sales networks in Thailand, it said.

In addition to announcing the "4+4" strategy, Great Wall Motor also unveiled the GWM brand super symbol for the ASEAN market, which consists of two capital Gs.

The symbol expresses a more pure and equal relationship between the GWM brand and its customers, and conveys the brand spirit of exploring the unknown and making breakthroughs, it said.
