After bringing the EP9 to "Asphalt 9: Legends" last year, Nio is about to make the supercar available in another well-known racing game.

Nio said today that the EP9 will arrive in the world's top racing game "Forza Horizon 5" on February 3, making it the first Chinese-branded supercar in the game.

"This 1,360-horsepower performance beast will once again 'go beyond the limits' and travel to Mexico in the virtual world for an adventure in the tropics," Nio said.

Forza Horizon 5 is a racing game developed by Microsoft, landing on Win10/Xbox/Steam platforms in November 2021, and is regarded as the pinnacle of open-world racing games, according to Nio.

The game was nominated for the TGA Global Game Awards, known as the "Oscars of the gaming industry", and the IGN 2021 Best Game of the Year award.

The Nio EP9 broke the lap record of the German Nürburgring, known as the "Green Hell", and many speed enthusiasts have only been able to watch its speed from afar, Nio said, adding that now, in the virtual world of "Forza Horizon 5", the dream becomes a reality.

The game authentically recreates Mexico's unpredictable geological details and climate, providing users with unprecedented challenges, Nio said.

The Nio EP9 was unveiled in 2016, and on October 12, 2016, the sports car set an electric vehicle lap record of 7 minutes and 05 seconds at the Nürburgring.

It set another record of 257 km/h at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on February 23, 2017, making it the fastest electric vehicle in the world at the time.

The first batch of Nio EP9 was limited to six units worldwide, and the owners are William Li, founder of Nio, Zhang Lei, founder and CEO of Hillhouse Capital, Pony Ma, founder of Tencent, Liu Qiangdong, founder of JD.com, Lei Jun, founder of , and Li Xiang, founder of Auto Home and , according to previous local media reports.

It is worth noting that the EP9 is not a conventional production car and cannot be driven on ordinary roads, but only on the track.

Nio currently displays the car at the Nio Houses and holds several events a year for its high-end EP Club members only, who have the opportunity to experience the car at the track.

On February 18 last year, Nio announced that the EP9 was the first Asian electric supercar to be launched in the global version of the racing game "Asphalt 9: Legends".

In early April last year, the EP9 was officially launched in the Chinese version of "Asphalt 9: Legends."
