After appearing on the Chinese regulator's product list early last month, two models from Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Group, Evergrande's car-making arm, have disappeared from the final list, leaving its progress facing new uncertainty.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today released the 350th batch of vehicles allowed to be sold, missing two models from Evergrande compared to a previous version that was open for public comment.
On November 9, MIIT released the preliminary list for public feedback, with a deadline of November 16.
The Hengchi 5 LX was listed at that time, containing two models, HDE6470BEVA1F and HDE6470BEVA0F.
Appearing in the MIIT's catalog is the last major regulatory process for a model to be sold in China, usually only 4-6 months before the vehicle is officially launched.
Surprisingly, however, both models disappeared from the final list released by the MIIT today, for reasons that are not yet known.
In addition, local media reported that Evergrande NEV held a strategic partner meeting at its battery factory in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province on December 7.
The company's president, Liu Yongzhuo, said Evergrande NEV, as an independent listed company, is overcoming the negative impact and coming out of its darkest hours.
