today unveiled the DM-i Super Hybrid Destroyer 05, the first sedan in its Ocean series, at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

It adopts the latest marine aesthetic design concept and BYD's new logo, and is the second BYD model to adopt the new logo after the Dolphin.

The car has a length, width and height of 4,780/1,837/1,495mm respectively and a wheelbase of 2,718mm.

It is equipped with BYD DM-i Super Hybrid system with Snapdragon 1.5L engine, EHS system, and dedicated blade battery.

It has a peak power of 81 kW, a peak torque of 135 Nm and a thermal efficiency of 43.04 percent.

The model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as fast as 7.3 seconds and consumes 3.8 liters per 100 km at the lowest charge.

The model is available with a choice of 55km and 120km of pure electric range, the latter of which also supports 25kW fast charging, taking only 25 minutes to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent.

BYD has not yet announced the official launch date and price of the Destroyer 05. Previously, it was reported that its price range is RMB 120,000 - 150,000 yuan.

With the launch of the Destroyer 05, BYD will also divide its former automotive business into two business units - Wang Chao Business Unit and Ocean Network Business Unit.

The Ocean Network replaces the former e-Network, and models will be displayed and sold in 4S stores, shopping malls and city showrooms.

The Ocean Network consists of two product series, the pure electric products based on the e platform 3.0 named after marine creatures, and the hybrid product series with DM-i super hybrid technology named after warships.

In the Warship series, the sedan will be named the "Destroyer" series, the SUV models will be the "Cruiser" series, and the MPV models will be the "Landing Ship" series.
