After unveiling its first sedan, the M7, late last month, Chinese electric car startup WM Motor today released several interior images of the model.
The images show the M7's interior with a minimalist Tesla-like design and almost no physical buttons.
The M7's cabin features an i-Surf technology skin with an i-Rota super dial, offering smart applications that make the ride more tech-savvy, according to WM Motor.
The i-Surf technology skin refers to the digital display module in front of the passenger seat, which can display user-defined information as well as provide risk warnings when a car is coming from the side.
The i-Rota super dial refers to the "smartwatch" dial below the center console, which can be used to display time, weather and temperature information, as well as control knobs for air conditioning and multimedia.
WM Motor unveiled the M7 on October 22, and while it offers superb hardware, it also presents a very controversial appearance.
The LiDAR on the roof of the M7 has a more pronounced bulge than the NIO ET7, and the cameras on either side of that LiDAR as well as the additional LiDARs equipped on the sides of the body give it a more pronounced bulge.
The model is positioned as a mid-size coupe with a length of 4,930mm and a wheelbase of 2,918mm.
By comparison, the NIO ET7 is 5,098mm long with a wheelbase of 3,060mm. XPeng Motor's P7 is 4,880mm long with a wheelbase of 2,998mm. the Tesla Model 3 is 4,694mm long with a wheelbase of 2,875mm.
In terms of hardware specifications, the M7 is equipped with the top hardware available, including most notably three LiDARs, making it the first vehicle announced by a car manufacturer so far to have three of that component on board.
The M7 has as many as 32 sensors, and in addition to the three LiDARs, it has five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, seven 8-megapixel cameras, four surround-view cameras, and an independent high-precision positioning module.
Such a large number of sensors also means they require a powerful CPU to process a large amount of environmental information collected.
The M7 is equipped with four NVIDIA DRIV Orin-X chips, with a single computing power of 254 TOPS and combined computing power of 1,016 TOPS, the same as the NIO ET7.
WM Motor will showcase the M7 at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 19.
